Kite Surfer
After torrential rain yesterday and overnight the sea was a very muddy looking colour this morning when I took Zoe for her normal morning walk. This is because the rain in the Lammermuir Hills tends to bring down a load of silt. The river Biel which flows into the sea at Belhaven Beach is therefore a very murky brown. It was also bitterly cold with a strong northerly breeze. Ideal surfing weather then !! Well there were three intrepid kite surfers on the beach this morning. Their kites, of course, were multi-coloured but the sea and sky were a mixture of murky grey and muddy brown so I have decided to pop my colours only for the kite and surfer. In any case the monochrome treatment elsewhere gives a truer rendering of the wild and wintery conditions.
Today we have a lull in our storm of Christmas visitors before my daughter and family from Berlin re-appear tomorrow. The house seems strangely empty.
