Swim, Eat, Swim, Repeat
The 7 miles of walking and a very chilly swim certainly gave us an appetite last night. We had a walk down to Bowness where we enjoyed a large bowl of pasta, wine and desert and a little limoncello, before heading back to Windermere in search of a proper pub. We found the perfect place in the form of the smallest pub in the Lakes. The Pie and Pint. Great beer, a free pie with every pint, quirkiness, a very cute dog, Bernard, and good company in the form of some fellow GNSers. And in case we hadn't replenished our calories, the night ended with a share of Elvis's birthday cake...
The sun was shining when we woke this morning, and after breakfast we headed down to the lake for a refreshing dip before heading home, with a stop off for coffee on the way.
I'd promised C I'd take her swimming this afternoon if we were home in time, she's keen to practise her butterfly. Thankfully the pool was pretty quiet for her flying arms!!
