Told you so!

Around forty-eight years ago I first visited this street in suburban Glasgow to stay with my girlfriend, now my wife of more than 45 years! I noticed a young variegated maple, Acer plantanoides 'Drummondii, I think, planted in a group of other trees outside the flats opposite, and although it was fairly small, a plain green shoot was developing beside the variegated one. I remember thinking that if the green shoot wasn't removed then the variegated piece would be overwhelmed in time.

I was in the same street today and this is the same tree. I rest my case!
