Delicacy

One of the joys of June - the poppies.  This patch I found growing next to the mature heap at the allotment.  They seemed rather apt to photograph given the 75th anniversary of D-Day this week.  Their paper-like petals give them such an air of delicacy.

For June it has been a strange day weather-wise - strong winds mixed with heavy downpours.  This made it hard to do much outside this morning, but the afternoon as the sun has appeared and the wind dropped a little, its been pleasant to go to the allotment for an hour and do some weeding.  I've got bindweed on my plot and it is a never-ending task to pull it up.  Come the autumn I will do some deep digging to try to get out some of the old roots which lie below the subsoil.  I got lots out last winter but clearly there was plenty I missed.

It is Saturday night so that means it is curry night in our household.  Andy is making it and it smells delicious.  Now the sun is out, hopefully we'll get a short walk in after dinner.

Wishing you all well.
