Excitement levels went too high too early with two children being present junkies. All they wanted to do was open presents. Wife's seasonal cold has also not got better just yet so this combined with the manicness meant there had to be an enforced break to the proceedings.

After the usual lunch and a walk round the village, the little ones, and the rest of us, were allowed to almost finish off the present opening but on a more sustainable excitment level. In fact it went so well that only a couple were held back for boxing day and that was mainly due to the weather.

In the evening we were all shocked as Boy took himself to bed at 6.30pm. We should have realised this was not actually going to be what happened as he ended up complaining at us and not settling to the point were at 9 I gave up and took him downstairs to watch telly with the grown ups for a bit, with a big smile on his face.
