The roar of the surf was audible from the house as I left for my beach run this morning.

Later, a yellow storm warning was issued for Edinburgh and it did indeed rain heavily here in the afternoon.

The Southsea stages at Portsmouth played host to a moving 75th anniversary tribute to D-Day which worked well courtesy of BBC Studios production.
