Outgrown

A little patch of wild phlox amongst the marsh grass barely has time to raise its heads and bloom before being overtaken. The grass grows at such a rate and gets so tall, it smothers all other vegetation.

The low sun bathes the plant and grass in wonderful warm side light and they stand out nicely against the dark trees behind them.

It's a real joy to be out at this time of year enjoying the warm evenings and listening to the birdsong. Soon the temperatures will rise and the mosquitoes will be out in force, so I'm making the most of it.
