Wet clematis

As you can see from the shot, we've had rain today.  Quite a lot of it.  

We have recently employed someone to come for 3 hours each week to help in the garden.  Mainly the stuff that really requires an ability to kneel, which I cannot do for any length of time - so weeding is currently her main occupation.  When I took this photo, it was only raining half-heartedly.  Soon after, it got much wetter, and is now good steady rain - not a downpour, but also not a drizzle.  


L put in three hours in the rain today, neatening up the grass edges, and weeding.  W and I mainly sat inside and complained - whilst acknowledging that the garden will appreciate the weather.  W has just put two new water butts in the front yard - so these will be getting some supplies.  We also took delivery of two more butts today, for alongside the office - these are in position, but unfortunately not yet connected to the downpipe.  

Hopefully, normal garden working will resume tomorrow.
