West Sands St Andrews
6.5C bright start becoming duller with thin cloud
Last year we went through to St Andrews on the 27th. This year it was boxing day. Apothercary7, Maeve the Deerhound and I have been wandering round the old town just enjoying a change of scene.
When we arrived there were more people on the West sands than I have ever seen there, even in summer. It must be a traditional boxing day place to walk. The tide was fairly high though, so the usual huge expanse of sand wasn't available. People were walking right out to the Eden Estuary and back. It is always good to see people out taking the air and enjoying something so simple as a sociable walk along the beach :-)
My blip is from the car park at the Golf Museum and shows the West sands about 3pm when most people had finished their walk. The Old Course is just beyond the sand dunes. The sea was lovely and calm and without much breeze it wasn't too cold.
Later Apothecary7 had been walking around the house in the new boots that she bought in one of the sales. An extra Christmas present :-)
