Xmas Pie

A non-traditional start to Xmas this year.....racing!

After a quick breakfast, R, her mum and I pedalled down to Cramond for the 5km Parkrun race. Progress was slower than expected so we only had 10 minutes from getting there to the off! I definitely was inadequately warmed up.

At the gun, I found myself stuck behind these wee wummin, as Rosemary headed off into the distance. I managed to get round them quite quickly and was soon passing R. I was feeling really comfy for the 1st km..... but that couldn't be the case as I did in in ~4mins (quite fast for me just now). Just past the 2km mark, it started to get really hard and Rosemary passed me at the 1/2 way mark. I slowed on the final 2km finished in 21min 55sec which I'm satisfied with....as I've been ill and injured over the last few weeks. Rosemary was 45secs faster.

After cycling home, Rosemary got the dinner on. We had amazing mushroom and nut pies with xmas trimmings (I wanted brussel sprouts). I definitely needed an afternoon snooze and a walk afterwards!
