Canute-like before the onslaught

Like King Canute, it hasn't taken Ottawacker Jr long to realize he is powerless against the tide. Poor lad, as reward for dragging him to the perils of Ronda and Seville, he was promised an "Ottawacker Jr Day." He chose the beach, on the one day so far we have had nothing but choppy seas and perilous undertows.

He had to make do making a fort. Or rather, a soccer stadium. Then the tide started coming in....

We made up for it with a fabulous dinner at the Chambao Beach, which has the unique distinction of being a Spanish restaurant in this part of the world. Of course, it was almost empty...

Mattie made friends with the barman, who in turn made friends with us. Always nice to have friends in appropriate places....
