Xmas means lots of old movies on the television. One of my favourites is Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly. Eat your heart out Strictly ! this is real dancing, singing and acting all in one take !!

This was a picture taken in a moment of inspiration, "oh no, what am I going to blip today", K said thoughtfully - then the moment arrived. It took a few variations of settings to get this shot - but I believe it captures the iconic song and dance routine. He was full of flu when he did this apparently !!

We know who Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds are, but who is the other guy ? You know - the one who plays 'Cosmo' in the movie. He is amazing and can make faces and do 'back flips' and everything!

This movie seemed very apt, especially given the non-stop deluge we are experiencing in the UK at the moment. Not everyone is singing unfortunately, but this film really does cheer you up. It is all about apotheosis, the management of change, the little guy versus the big corporation, and an insight into the rise of the film and entertainment industry. Great !

Then, this was followed by Dr Who and the scary snowmen....brrrr.. The film on the menu tonight is The adventures of Tintin. What an exciting life we lead on Xmas day. Still, there is not much else you can do when stuffed so full of Xmas turkey and Xmas pudding that you cannot move.
