Simples!

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

This morning, Smashley and I took Murphy and Jarvis down to Portobello beach for a change of scene. Murphy just loves the beach. It was completely calm so he keep dropping his ball so I would throw it in the sea for him to swim out to get it. It’s very infectious watching dogs being that happy and it was a lovely start to the day.

In the afternoon, the Eldest Mini Princess and I went to do the meerkat experience at Edinburgh zoo. It was her birthday present (from last August) and, oh no, an adult had to go in with her so I bravely volunteered for the job!

They were so cute. We were in with the males, led by the top dude, Ace. We couldn’t handle them (as they really don’t like it) but we got to feed them mealworms and the hungry little dudes were happily scampering round us. One little guy was very interested in EMP’s wellies. I wonder if he could smell Murphy?

After the meerkats, we got to feed Arno the armadillo some ‘newly dead*’ crickets. Arno was quite cheesed off about being woken up and kept trying to scurry back to bed but he came round after some food. Arno and EMP have a few things in common!

It was a great experience. The two of us spent the rest of the afternoon at the zoo and we heard the lion roar which was quite spectacular. I’ve only ever seen it on film before. I can confirm that it is really, really loud!

We finished our day with all of us having pizza and spending the evening curled up on the sofa watching Line of Duty.

It was a fab day.
