Today was a busy day. Last minute shopping with Mum and attempts to drop of Christmas cards to a few family friends which inevitably lead to being invited in for many cups of tea and mince pies. After lunch I had some baking of my own to do and made mince pies with my brother. Very Christmassy.

In the evening I went over to Briony's, a friend from school, with whom I always feel at home, no matter how long we've been apart. I did her wrapping for her, and we made paper chains to decorate her house. I stayed for a lovely dinner her mum had made for us with olive and onion tart and sweet potato. At 9, an hour later than planned, I went to the Kings Head (how good it feels to walk back into your local!) to meet the Norwich School lot. Quite a good turn out, so good to catch up with everyone, even if there were a few strange guests. My mum picked me up and we went to midnight mass together. Bumped into Martha and Grace and was so good to catch up on gossip with them. The service and choir were beautiful as ever, it was strange to go without my usual company though.

Nothing like this to welcome in Christmas. Mince pies, a glass of wine and bed. Joyeux Noel.
