Final Group Photo.
The morning was spent meditating, walking and doing an interesting exercise on compassion. Samten, the lovely young nun in the front row, talked about loving kindness and compassion, then led us in a visualization type of meditation, to help us discover what blocks us .... or what prohibits us from being totally compassionate with someone else's suffering.....i found it extremely powerful and challenging....too much to write here, but suffice to say i have a bit of an insight into where and why the doors to my heart can be closed off!
And of course, the retreat would not be complete without the group photo. We took a few so i thought i'd put the more playful one here....there is a lot of laughter during these retreats amidst some of the more serious talks!
Once we said our farewells to everyone....i laid down for 1/2 hour before heading into the studio to unload the kiln and wax all of their bottoms!!! Getting ready to fire 2 glaze kilns this week .... decided to make an event of the beginning of the season, so i'm having an Open House at the pottery next weekend. Feel free to drop by from 10 - 4 Saturday and Sunday :P
