Diary of an Edinburgher

Two walkies!

Archie really really hates me watching 'Bodies' while on my bike. Too many screaming women giving birth! I must say, it's very graphic, but I can look out of the window when needed. He started barking at a particularly loud sequence, and came in to glare at me! I put the volume down (even more).

Annemique came to take him out after lunch. She and her brother walked across the Meadows and had a coffee at Press, a cafe I’ve never been to. She has a new bike and it looked very flash, but she assured us it was the cheapest in the shop.

When they came back, brother-less, Annemique stayed for a chat and a play with Archie, in one of his playful moods. We talked about her new job, and her up-and-coming holiday in Costa Rica. We're very jealous!

Then, in the evening, Elizabeth came to take Archie out for a wee while. She hadn’t been able to come yesterday, and so she missed him too much! Luckily, he didn’t know it was Saturday and so hadn’t realised her non-appearance.

He was playing this morning, and suddenly stopped, rested his head on the chair. He stayed like that for ages. Probably just musing on life etc. He rests his head quite a lot on anything handy. I turned the sound off on the camera phone, because he always looks when he hears that familiar sound, which is usually handy.

The hedge is growing as I look out at it. Also, everyone else is cutting their hedges. We're working up to it...
