13C with squally showers. Brighter in the afternoon with sunny spells, but still occasional squalls. Westerly wind to 28 mph with gusts to 39 mph.

Grocery shopping. We made sure to take our time today so the road would be open again after the start of MOKRUN (Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10K Race ) and the stragglers had managed to get started and clear the town.

Because of the squally day combined with the annoyingly inconvenient road closures and restrictions linked with the race we didn't go to a beach but just went for a walk after lunch. Fortunately we got a dry bright spell.

Later Apothecary 7 was painting.
