We went to visit Virginia as it is her 92nd birthday today. She enjoys having visitors and also enjoyed her Sunday lunch - turkey with croquette potatoes, rhubarb crumble and ice cream. The hospital only has single rooms, which is good for infection control but not good for patients who are stuck on their own, craving company and stimulation. Hopefully Virginia will be moved to a cottage hospital or similar place very soon.

This was D's first visit to the new hospital and he met some old friends. He was also pleased to find that the building looks much better from the inside, with big windows looking out onto the gardens. 

The rain has stopped now so I'm going to go and move some logs and then pick some rhubarb to make our own crumble for tonight's tea :-)
