Gone

I went up to Waverley station to pick up some tickets for January train journeys and was amazed to see that the branch of Costa coffee that had stood in the centre of the booking hall for years had.....vanished. It closed a few weeks ago but was still standing last time I was in there. It used to fill the square area behind these weary looking travellers in the foreground - the only blip I could find of it was this oblique view. There didn't seem to be any marks on the flooring; it was as if it had never been. Maybe that was what the Mayan prophecy was about.....

I then ambled all the way down Leith Walk, stopping off in V & C for coffee and Tattie Shaws for almost everything else. Ah, and then the Pilrig Scotmid for teabags. Mr H, meanwhile, went out for some last minute gifts and came home with a stuffed duck (it's always an uncertain business, shopping in Lidl).
