Full on Christmas preparations today: collecting the turkey (a monster 20lbs-er; I rode it home from the shop), getting ready for the in-laws and out-laws arriving tomorrow, putting out whisky and a mince pie for Santa, making soda bread (to go with smoked salmon tomorrow), getting the turkey ready for a 7am start and, most importantly, writing letters to Santa. You can't get this wrong: best hand writing, making sure you say thank you and letting him know what you want. The children haven't yet asked why they write the letters on Christmas Eve when Santa is already en-route.
