I just got to get out of this place

Taken at lunchtime today. There didn't appear to be much of a last minute Christmas shopping rush happening.

Mostly people appeared to be rushing to get out by car.

Just before taking this picture I had been waiting to extract cash from the hole in the wall machine, ahead of lunch with a friend.

I was horrified at the amount of discarded chewing gum on the pavement which I'd not noticed previously.

This picture was taken from in front of the tree on the opposite side of the road. You can just about see the 'Wimpy' sign above the pedestrian.

The name Wimpy is believed to have come from Popeye's friend J Wellington Wimpy who loved hamburgers as much as Popeye loved spinach.
