Penstamon

There are 250 species of this flower in the Western part of the United States. The Eastern part has only 12 species.
One of the common names of this plant is Beardtongue, because of the hairy stamens that protrude from the lip of the tubular bloom.
I like this particular species because of the variation in the color of the flowers on one stalk, from pink to lavender to blue.
