Keswick Mountain Festival d3
First on site again has its rewards, a wander down to the lake shore. I also took the opportunity to collect some yucky lake water to demonstrate water filters later in the day....as ever it was the little kids who were most enthusiastic testing volunteers.
A short rant: it cost a small fortune to park in Keswick, I expected one of the payment option to be "insert first born child". It was dismaying to watch many people simply decide 2 hrs was costly enough, which then obviously affects the success of the festival and the enjoyment participants get from it. We get engagent and cost benefits very wrong in this country.
Packed sessions again and great feedback, already pencilled in for next year. Due to another presenter being ill I also put on a Tour du Mont Blanc walk talk late in the afternoon, so lots of lazing around in between - shooting the breeze and catching up with folk.
Including.... Trevor, Ros and gorgeous Chloe of Blipland. They'd very carefully ferried chocolate* from Hibou (also à blipper) in Switzerland all the way to the English Lake District. Thank you everyone in that kind process.
Or a locally sourced still Swiss alternative as the original chocolate may have accidentally fallen into their mouths...
