The Calm Before The Storm
We had a lovely meal at the pub we stayed at last night (The Gregory at Harlaxton) and then a hearty breakfast this morning.
From there we drove a short distance to a stretch of the Grantham canal and walked some way along the towpath and back again. Nice and peaceful. Some nice grass seed heads along the banks (see extra).
Then we drove to Belton House (an NT property near Grantham) and after a coffee we spent a couple of hours wandering around the gardens and park. Came cross this fabulous ‘Fishing Lodge’ and we sat for ages just watching the ducks on the lake.
Then after a cup of tea and a cake, we set off back to Doncaster to collect the dog from our daughter’s. Arrived back home about 5 p.m. Quite weary after a busy day yesterday and all the travelling. The hard work starts tomorrow morning when the orders from Saturday are sent through to us so we can post them out. Then we have to start cutting and packing the ‘extra’ stock that was promised.
I have fallen a bit behind with your journals - but I think I have them saved so I can catch up as and when during the week. Apologies if I miss a few
