Steaming into the Evening
This evening I joined a group of photographers booked onto a heritage photography experience run by Timeline Events. We were based at Didcot Railway Centre for the evening, and around 30 of us had exclusive access to the yard and the promise of a full moon to light our way.
So the full moon failed to put in an appearance until around 10mins after the event closed (typical!), but we were treated to a glorious twilight period, and when the sun finally set, there was the period lighting to illuminate the couple of engineers escorting us around (re-enactors), and ambiant, albeit modern, lighting from the neighbouring Didcot station.
The main image is of the old station area with the GWR 4-6-0 steam locomotive. Burton Agnes Hall, catching the late evening sun. The extras show the engineers having a break, and one of the last shots of the evening looking back toward a line of locos with the engine shed in the backgound - I still have plenty more the process! All in all it was a great evening.
