Life on the Niger River

When roads get unusable due to mud, or quicksand, the river can be the only option for movement outside the larger towns.  The Niger is a lifeline for many, but it has its drawbacks.  Prospecting up river puts mercury into the water, which gets into the fish, which then get sold and eaten by the less affluent of society.  This boat owner is a bit more entrepreneurial in his approach and offers leisure rides along the river.
