bridge over troubled water

a couple of hours earlier it would have been under troubled water - but I couldn't have got the pic then as I had to cross it (after jumpimg over a bit where the burn was coming over) to take it.
Just downstream the burn was at least 4 times its normal width and the ponds had become one (and the paths become burns) and there were numerous waterfalls as the water escaped from them into the burn
by this time the rain had stopped and the sun was out, much to everyone's relief, esp those with sandbags round their gardens, and so the water was able to go down a bit.
we've lived here 35 years and I've never seen anything like this - and I think we've come off lightly compared to some people. do feel for them, it must be awful to be flooded
