Mutant Ladybird.

I found lots of ladybirds down the garden this morning. This one with several others was on a plum tree. It appears to be diseased in some way. If it were a human with this type of lesion, I would think it looked like a malignant melanoma. It appeared quite vigorous and active so I'm not sure what is wrong with it.
