Stormy Monday
The bad weather has not let up. Violent north easterlies and more rain, the ground sodden, the air cold, the mood sullen.
Late in the day I walked the boundaries. The spring growth is swarming, the boar in the unfenced field have been ploughing, the porcupines are back for another battle. But still plenty to marvel at as I tied up vines and delicate shoots in the gale.
Some extras. Cherries in the rain, ragged robins, the wayfaring tree struggling to bloom, my lupins and two lizards I was sorry to disturb when I lifted a large hole to plug another excavation under the fence.
I've prepped the beast of a strimmer for tomorrow. Greased and gassed and ready to go.
