By the Eden

I am used to being on the top of the viaduct at Wetheral, as it's the one, built in 1832, that carries the Carlisle to Newcastle railway over the Eden. 

And so the end of an era - Doris Day is no more. I lived my young  teenager years in her light. A friend and I used to go to the local cinema and watch her films over and over. My mother used to sing her songs as she went about the house. Calamity Jane has always been, and will always be, my favourite film of all time - I must have seen it a hundred times, maybe there is time to watch it tonight! Oh the Deadwood Stage . . .
