pebble underneath my feet

lifetimes are catching up with me

I went in to town today to do some last minute shopping and to meet Julia for lunch as she is back in London for Christmas - hooray! Well, the first bit was a bit stressful. I went to M&S to get some Euros but the lady who was working behind the counter wouldn't accept my Spanish ID card. "I can't read it - it has to be in English" she said. What about the people in the world who aren't from an English-speaking country then?? She wasn't having any of it so I got a bit angry and let's just say I wasn't very polite - oops. Had to call Rhiannon to calm myself down as I was potentially going to face a serious case of shopping rage. I ended up going to another branch of M&S where the bloke behind the counter was much cleverer and could figure out stuff like the expiry date from a Spanish ID card. Incidentally, in the second branch, I noticed that EU national identity cards are one of the 4 types of ID accepted by them when exchanging money. Grrr!

After that lil episode of rage, I met up with Julia for lunch in Dishoom where we caught up with the last few months of our lives. I bloody miss my friends from uni - why have we all decided to live in separate parts of the world? They're my favourite people in the world, after all.....
