Sunday

9 lessons and carols went ok. There were a couple of dodgy bis - 'Joy to the World 'when we ended up in front of the organ by about 2 bars but overall it sounded ok, although my voice was gone by the end. All these high descants, including 'Adeste Fidelis', but I love that.

Then back to Anne and Charlie's for wine and nibbles. Turns out I remember Charlie's father from way back, Dr Laing at Colinton Church.

Then I walked across to Bruntsfield for brandy and gin and no book. It wasn't raining (for once) and there was blue sky for the first time for age but the wind was biting - so cold.

J and D brought stuff for Tuesday (they tell me it's Christmas) and then to the house to retrieve the glasses I left yesterday.

Last of the presents are wrapped, last of the cards are up and tomorrow - turkey ..... It MUST be Christmas.
