A view at the Dutch Canal in Negombo
This the first part of the canal, also known as Hamilton Canal. Originated in the 17th century by Portugese and finished by the Dutch, the canal was meant to ship spices to the sea.
Nowadays the government is trying to restore it but that goes slow; due to lack of money. And: large parts of it are polluted by things one cannot imagine... I saw huge piles of litter, just dumped over fences...People don't know what they are doing and that's a pity.
Better in LARGE...
