not for the squeamish

We are always checking Jess for ticks, especially in this damp Spring weather. We live in a place where they thrive, surrounded by long grass, woodland, sheep and deer, so it's almost inevitable that they will find her. Usually we find and remove them before they get to this size. There's a special way to remove them which results in a satisfying "click" - it's important to get the mouth parts out whole. It's the females which climb onto animals and suck the blood before falling off and laying 1000's of eggs.

If you're still reading this, you must not be the squeamish type. So HEREs a link where you can learn more and take a little tick quiz :-)
