Biker Girl

Today I got to tick something off my bucket list!!! I have always wanted to ride on the back of a motorbike.....in this case a Kawasaki 1000 :-) owned by our neighbour and friend.

Obviously hub kindly took the photos, hope I am forgiven?! The little collage shows me in all the gear, bar the helmet in our lounge, then a couple just before and as we pulled away.

Shaun and Carol live nextdoor, on the other side from our quiz neighbours ;-) I happened to mention when we were all chatting that I would love to go on the back of a bike.....so this morning was the day! Hub drove Carol to our chosen Brunch venue, whilst Shaun took me on the back of his bike.

I'd never ridden before, but wasnt worried or at all nervous, as I was in safe hands.
After donning the leathers, boots, gloves and helmut, which were pretty weighty, @ 11lbs (5kgs), I clambered onto the back, needed the added height of the curb to get my leg over
(you know what I mean ;-) and off we went.

What a thrill.......through town then onto the motorway for a junction, such power and speed! Then off onto the country roads, where I got to lean into the bends and corners. I was quite happy to just hold onto the side handles rather than cling on....felt totally at ease!

Hub and Carol were sipping their coffee when we got to Tastebuds cafe, a real popular destination with bikers and cyclists alike.

After we had refreshed, refuelled and chatted a while we headed home, via the motorway, at the speed limit of course........well, maybe just once he floored it......woohoo!

What an adrenaline rush, loved it!!!!

We are just about to pop round to theirs for an hour for a quick drink to toast our Anniversary, belatedly.
