Tree or rock

We did the Bisse du Lens walk today (bisse are irrigation channels that run along the mountainside). It was a grey day but we made the most of this. We came across these ‘shoots’ coming out of a tree trunk but all agreed they looked like they were coming out of a rock.

The extra shows the view from the bisse walk down to the valley which gives some idea of how high up we were.
