Media Vita in Morte Sumus

Dear Diary,

"In the midst of life we are in death" from the Book of Common Prayer.  I've been surveying the tree damage from the winter and noticed this long dead tree on the edge of my property.  The Latin phrase just popped into my mind.  I must admit I had to resort to Google to get it right because my grasp of Latin is 55 years out of date!  I took two years of it in high school but, needless to say, I haven't had a great deal of opportunity to practice it!

The world is coming back to life now and that forsythia I transplanted from in front of my house 24 years ago.  I'd say it likes it location.  The dead tree looming up behind it will have to come down but right now the woodpeckers are really enjoying it!  Nature wastes nothing.
