Tour de Yorkshire

Mens race through Kippax. A bit dull but then it was rather dull weather.

First we watched the Ladies race on ITV4 and I put it on to record because I knew we would be watching it at the bottom of our street and wanted to see it come through Kippax, and I could watch it later, When I came to watch it hoping to see family and friends, do you know what they had done...well just as they entered Kippax the adverts came on and as they finished they had gone by and were just on the way out. The commentator said " they are just leaving Kippax which was voted the best dressed village last year" a lot of people were not amused me included.
Anyhow later in the afternoon the mens race came through and I recorded that, they didn't put adverts on that time so we got a good view of the village, it was heart warming just how many people had turned out from beginning to end. My granddaughter Kirsty was stood by the chippie and although there was a good shot of her daughter Caitlin, her Mother and Dad (my son) you can't see her, she is really miffed. I was even on it.
It was a great atmosphere everywhere. It doesn't last long gone by in a flash but that doesn't matter it's the spirit of the people that matters. The butcher had been out at 5am putting up extra balloons and bunting and the local parish councillor at 6.30am everyone involved has worked so hard.

re the bed base saga, well Paula got the drawers made up today so all is well with the base.
But the adjustable bed.. well thats another saga. the chap who was coming the other night, never arrived and never got in touch to say why, the first woman who was enthusiastic and wanted it for her mother gave back-word, said her mother didn't want it, another who was going to borrow a van from his dad and make arrangements to come never did, the third  wanted us to store it until she had time to come. The Charity shop didn't want it without a mattress. Now a chap is coming tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) I won't hold my breath.

Goodnight peeps have a nice weekend.
