Charley's handprint angel

Tots Christmas Party this morning! Loud and crazy and full and fun and happy. Usual playtime, handprint angels craft (which I loved and which Charley was amenable to, so now I have his 1yr old handprints as a memento!), games, food, and a visit by Santa as well.

I'd not managed to get anything wrapped for the boys from Santa so Steve dashed into the loft to dig out a couple of presents from the Grandparents. Thankful that he found something appropriate!

I could see him on the verge of getting upset during one of the games, he thought he was being ignored and left out but he got a sweet in the end. And then in the next game he got a sweet fairly early on but tried to say that he'd already got one! He came and gave it to me - seems he was happy with just the one!

The afternoon passed by with Steve taking the boys out for a walk while I got some Christmas stuff done, and then trying to get the boys fed and into bed early so they weren't still up when people came round for a meeting.

We were partially successful. Ben was convinced into going to sleep, eventually.

Charley was not. He ended up joining us for dinner. He ate lots of rice. He wandered around doing his usual, which unfortunately was not conducive to me being part of a meeting. I suspect he wanted to go to bed but I couldn't just disappear to bed with him unfortunately. In the end he went and tripped over his own feet and did a massive faceplant, and after screaming went to sleep finally on me, slumped in a heap in the kitchen. I guess our guests had a real realisation as to why I don't make it out to evening meetings at the moment.....
