Grace On the Soapbox

I have been giving my classes a poem for the day. No worry about writing about it, no test. Just to read, think about, appreciate. Today’s was an 8 word poem from Rumi: “Tear off the mask. Your face is glorious.” One by one, students had to climb the Witten Soapbox and recite these 8 words. Grace did it, and I think she really hated doing it, like most kids did. I think most of them are getting it. Ha...maybe my teaching is an acquired taste.
