Usually this gateway is only negotiable by hanging onto the post and edging yourself cautiously round on the grassy bit to avoid the deep, clarty mud!

Recently we have had an amazingly very dry spell, combined with seemingly endless easterly gales and strong winds, which has really dried out the ground, fields and gardens. Although the ground is dry, we have had some really heavy dews, and poor Lottie was soaked after her walk through the long grass this morning!   Much better that than covered in mud though!
