Gasgale Crags
I knew I was being optimistic thinking there might be a lull in bluebell visitors to Rannerdale on a weekend but I decided to head out that way to have a look. As predicted it was chock full so I hastily turned tail and went for my main plan and saw very few people as I headed up one of my favourite walks to Hopegill Head. I always forget what a slog up it is and my memory had neatly ironed out all the undulations once on the ridge. It took me ages, I’m very out of fell walking condition these days.
