D#1 chose the café at the CCA on Sauchiehall Street as the venue for her birthday meal with Lulabel and me.

Some of the things on the completely-vegan menu I'd never even heard of, but all the plates round about us looked very interesting and, indeed, appetising.

I opted for the lemon and asparagus risotto, D#2 had a mezze platter and I can't remember what K chose - something with tofu in it. I had a taste and it was delicious.

Afterwards we all went back to Lulabel's for birthday cake made by L. I got home very late to an ecstatic welcome from Minty, who must have thought he'd been abandoned, poor chap.
