iTeddy and a trip to Darwen

Is there anything more heartbreaking for a mother than hearing your 6 month old's hacking cough vibrating through the baby monitor all night. I think not. Poor Audrey. Full of cold and really not herself.
It broke my heart (and my sleep) last night.

Gemma was here today and my brief to her was simple - Audrey needs cuddles (and plenty of sleep and liquids).

I headed up to Darwen in Lancashire through congested Xmas traffic for a meeting with an old client (an ex star of Dragon's Den and inventor of the iTeddy - pictured). I haven't seen him for over a year but we fell back into our old ways. Him - late, talking fast, brimming with ideas. Me - scribbling notes, desperately trying to catch up. Excited about working with him again. Can definitely feel the old career girl in me reawakening.

I'm also considering a trip to a business retreat at the end of January. I'm really fortunate to know the female organiser who is an author of a business book (and very well connected) and it would be great networking. The trouble is, will I be ready to leave Audrey for 3 nights in a month's time when I struggle to leave her for a few hours now? I know I will really struggle and it's putting me off going.

Here I am again - torn between my baby and my business. Feels familiar.
