Me and Mill

Milly has been home for Easter, working at the Lunesdale Arms, and also doing a day at my office, today. This evening, taking advantage of the lovely weather, we grabbed Dan on the way home from work and went for dinner in the beer garden at the Marton Arms.

Rather than going straight home afterwards, we decided to have a bit of an explore and followed a sign for Dent. Now, I know three ways of getting to Dent: south, from Sedbergh; along the valley from Barbon; and heading west along the windy road from Ribblehead. This evening, we discovered an unsuspected fourth route, going over the tops from Thornton-in-Lonsdale.

Guys, I can't begin to tell you just how beautiful it is. I've added a photo as an extra but it doesn't begin to do it justice. Nearly thirty years I've lived here and I had no idea about this wonderful road nestling in such magnificent scenery. It was exhilarating!
