Another Attempt at Quenelles
Wednesday is such a weird day, I wake up for 8 with the dread of 4 classes that aren't always easy but the afternoon normally means lots of fun, so I have mixed feelings.
Today though was a good Wednesday. My BTS class did work (well, some...) and played the technology game without too much fuss. My next two classes were cancelled (love it when this happens!) so I managed to get a blog update done and my STMG class also did some work so I let them play some games. Came home and ate various foods that remain in the fridge. At 2.30 my private pupil came over. Frankly, she finds it quite hard to write in French and so in English is quite difficult. She's only 11, I feel sorry for her having to have English lesson, but that's another 20 euros that I can definitely spend in the bakery!
At 6, I went to meet Hati to go to Dom's concert. It was so cute as there loads of tiny children. Lots of out of tune violins too! Afterwards, we all went to Ludovic and Elsa's for dinner - quenelles cooked in a bechamel sauce. I wasn't feeling too well and I've got to say that I do prefer them in tomato sauce but they were still good. We followed them with a gateau de courge. Interesting.
After dinner we decided to do a quiz that the deputy head teacher, Monsieur Mendez, had emailed to all of the teachers to find out what kind of teacher you are. Well, it was hilarious. The French teachers (Greg, Ludovic & Elsa) had trouble understanding what the questions meant in French and so by the time I'd translated them for the English among us, they meant very little. I laughed so much that I cried. I had one of those moments where you're not sure why you're laughing but once you've started to laugh you just can't stop! Every time I looked at Ludovic we both ended up in hysterics again. It's been a long long time since I've laughed this much. It might have been something to do with the quantity of wine consumed (it was pear flavoured white wine - amazing!) but I had a great time.
We headed home around 1... hope Hati and Dom enjoyed the evening as much as I did. I think they were just a little bit bemused!
