Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

It's arrived!

Blood test this morning, then Richard came and carried on with his door renovations, Michael came and took Archie out, while JR popped out to pick up some dry cleaning.

It was sunny and quite warm out in the back garden - I even sat and read my new book for a while. It's by an old school friend that I’d lost contact with, but now discover she's a brilliant artist and author. Well, I knew she wrote children’s books, and she was always great at cartoon type sketches, but her paintings are wonderful.

In the afternoon the long-awaited kitchen cabinet arrived. Luckily, Richard was still here and able to help. And it fits perfectly! Well... it didn’t until the skirting board was removed! We'd measured and re-measured and it was to be a very good fit. But we didn’t measure down at skirting board level.

However, all's well after a tense ten minutes or so. It's perfect. Archie likes it too. Shelves will be added above Archie's dishes.
