Having a ding-dong!
No, Mr PP and I haven't been quarreling - not that sort of a ding-dong! But if these faces ring a bell, it's because we had a go at bell-ringing in Perth's Bell Tower, built in the year 2000. This was our first activity as we made our initial exploratory visit on foot to the capital city of Western Australia. The bells originally hung in St Martin's-in-the-Fields, in the days when that part of London was rural, up until 1920 when, found to be too big and heavy for the church's tower, they had to be removed. Unsurprisingly, found myself singing Oranges and Lemons ... "You owe me five farthings Say the bells of St Martin's..."
The tower stands close to Elizabeth Quay - you can see its pointed shadow in the Extra of the quay and the Swan River.
We're beginning to get used to walking around upside down, but it's strange seeing leaves blowing off the trees in the warm sunshine of an April day!
Our body clocks are all over the place and my tummy is protesting at all the travel and food and water changes, but I'm sure it'll soon settle down. We have a very comfortable hotel room, whose view I blipped on arrival last night. Or yesterday. Or whenever. (Perth is seven hours ahead of UK's BST.) So if you're not reading this till today, remember it would have been tomorrow yesterday. (Must be nearly bedtime, methinks!)
