A returning gift
for Gladys, my Grandma, from Grandad back from naval duty in the Far East. This beautiful powder compact, with the fine etching? on the lid and inscription in Grandads hand on the base is quite magical. What love! I've asked Mum if the date has any significance, not as far as she knows, possibly the date when grandad was there. I'll never know but treasure this compact.
Not such a busy day today. Volunteer morning at the DPHT, not too many visitors, so I was able to get some gardening bits n bobs done. Dead heading the daffs, removing some of the algae from the pond, general tidying. That done it was time for a quick coffee with the other volunteers before heading home. Quick detour to drop off some clothes at the Rowcroft Hospice charity shop in Bovey Tracey, then the clothes bank in Chudleigh, lastly a box of china etc. for the Brainwave charity shop.
Haircut at 6pm down Mums, before that re-hanging all Mum's net curtains. A nice blowy afternoon, perfect for washing & drying nets apparently. Mum is amazing for her age, 87 this year, & fit as a fiddle.
Gluten free bangers and mash for dinner tonight. I won 2kg of gluten free pork sausages on a local butcher's FB page. This was the last of them, & very tasty they were too.
Thanks to Diane for hosting
