Nativity
I know it's not a Nativity, it's a gingerbread man, painted a few years ago by my wonderful son, appropriate as he is very fond of the odd gingerbread man/biscuit, every time we go to the supermarket he gets one as his reward for coming and carrying my bags. Never ever claimed to be beyond bribery.
Today Josh's year performed the Nativity at school and the wee man was a wise man - he stood in last week as an understudy and as the days past and poor Matthew didn't return to school he became more and more excited at the prospect of getting to perform for the parents. While we bare Matthew no ill will there were a few fingers crossed that he would be unable to take part (he did return to school, fully recovered today, but having missed most of the rehearsals let Josh take the part). The whole year did fantastically well, the singing and acting were brilliant and the wee man was a star - in danger of taking it just a little too far as he shouted Merry Christmas to all the parents as they left but he was a wee star. I was so pleased to at last see a Nativity, Ky had a speaking part as an angel in one when she started school but was ill and absent from school for the whole week of the performance - I've held it against her ever since! No picture of the wise man as I could only see his crown bobbing about and then when he stood up and delivered his line I was too busy grinning at him to think about the camera!
So, I'm a rubbish Blipper - absent without leave, no real excuse but having missed a few days the urgency to Blip every day kind of left me, will try harder!
